DISASTER RESPONSE TRAINING TO GOA STATE DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE-BATCH II

The Goa State Fire Force Training Centre is imparting Disaster Response training to the State Disaster Response Force component of Goa Police, Home Guard and Civil Defence. The total trainees to be trained are 181 personnel, which will be completed by March 2018. However 2 batches of 20 people each have been trained so far in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Medical First Responder (MFR) & Fire Fighting course.

The Training Centre has been a knowledge sharing institution and has been instrumental in training Fire Fighters from other states such as Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar Fire Services in the above Disaster Response Training.

The Director, Fire & Emergency Services, further informed that out of 50 personnel of the State Disaster Response Force component of this Department,  38  fire personnel have been chosen and have been imparted training in various facets of Disaster Response i.e Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Medical First Responder (MFR), Swift Water I Flood Rescue and Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN).

The capacity building of the department Goa State Disaster Response Force personnel would be a continuous process.
