National Fire Service Day 14th April 2015

           The National Fire Service Day was observed in Goa on 14th April’2015, to pay homage to Firemen Martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the course of duty, followed by a Fire Prevention Week from 14th to 20th April’2015 to raise the public Fire Safety Awareness. The theme for the year 2015 is; 

                  To Prevent Fire:

      “Adopt Safe Housekeeping Practices & Approved Electrical Appliances”

                       “सुरक्षित जीवन शैली एवंम प्रामणित विद्युत उपकरण अपनाएँ”

  • On National Fire Service Day, 14th April 2015, Wreaths were placed on the Firemen Martyrs’ Column by all ranks of the Fire Service Personnel.
  • A ceremonial Parade was held at the Fire Force Training Ground, St. Inez, Panaji at 09:00 hours. Shri Laxmikant Parsekar, Hon. Chief Minister of Goa was the Chief Guest for the function.
  • Commendation Certificates to the Fire Personnel and Prizes to the participant of Poster Competition were awarded at the hands of Hon. Chief Minister of Goa on 14th April’2015.
  • A Safer Schools - Safer India Campainging in association with M/S Underwriters Laboratories (UL) India, Directorate of Education and State Council For Education and Research was launched at the hands of Hon. Cheif Minister.
  • "Fire Safe Goa" App was released by Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services at the hands of Hon. Chief Minister.The App has been developed by the Safety Centre at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Gujrat with the support of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) India.
  • A Philatelic cover was also released at the hands of Hon. Chief Minister in association with Department of Posts, India, Maharashtra Circle to Commemorate the Brave Fireman Martyrs in the line of Duty.
  • Live Demonstration of Fire Fighting, Urban Search and Rescue, Medical First Responders, Life Rescue from 32 meters Aerial Ladder Platform, Display of Newly Commissioned Emergency Rescue Tender and Display of Mallakhamb Exercises were organized for the public.
  • Blood Donation Camp was  organised at Caculo Mall on 18th April 2015 at 10:00 hrs, in association with Rotary Club of Panaji Midtown.
  •  All Goa Quiz Competition for the High School level Students was also organised  on 20th April’2015, in association with M/s Nestle (I) Ltd. Attractive Prizes and Certificates were awarded to the Winners and Participants.
